Customer service is an Attitude and not a department in an organisation. People need to be customer service oriented if they want their company/organisation to grow. Customers are the life blood of any business and it is because of the customers that any business survives. Customer service is the act of taking care of the customer's needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during, and after the customer's requirements are met.
If you're a problem solver and a leader, you might have a future as a customer service manager. Customer service managers are in charge of a group of customer service representatives, who work from call centres, over email or live chat, or face-to- face. As the customer service manager you make sure that your team does its best to meet customer needs by giving helpful tips on a product, making recommendations on how to resolve customer issues, taking orders and facilitating returns, troubleshooting problems and answering complaints.
